In the village of San Casciano Val di Pesa, a few steps from the historic center, is situated this villa originating from the enlargement of a tower from 1300s, reworked in the 1500s and 1800s, until it reached its present forms. The original stone tower, has been refined over time by adding large living rooms, fireplaces and pietra serena stairways, while maintaining intact the characteristics of Tuscan farmhouses.
A large garden of about 600 square meters completes the property, as well as a field of about 4000 square meters of olive groves.
San Casciano Val di Pesa, is an important town in the Florentine Chianti area, known for its ancient historic center surrounded by walls. The village has been modernized, not only in shops and facilities, like the beautiful theater recently renovated and reopened, but also in its event proposals, entertainment and activities taking place in the country. The town offers every necessary convenience: banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, typical trattorias and small shops. Its proximity to Florence and good connections with the city make it a sought-after destination for those who love the countryside.
Entering from the main gate, there is the garden of about 600 square meters, with a paved pergola and a large lawn. An ancient limonaia, situated on a slope, of about 60 square meters, is used as a garage and warehouse. (h. 1.80 m)
The house is on three levels. On the ground floor there is an entrance, a living room with a characteristic fireplace and an exit to the 65 sqm terrace, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley. Next to the living room there is a dining room with fireplace and the kitchen, again with exit to the terrace, as well as a laundry area and a service bathroom. From here, going down a few external steps, you enter the basement where there is a cellar with a characteristic vaulted ceiling, which extends the entire length of the ground floor.
The first floor is accessed through an elegant nineteenth-century staircase. A storage room is located halfway up the stairs. On the first floor there is the sleeping area with two large bedrooms, a recently renovated bathroom with shower, a further room currently used as a wardrobe, which can be a third bedroom. Steep stairs lead to the tower room, a large room where it is possible to make an additional bedroom with bathroom. Above the tower, with the ancient battlements still intact, there is a terrace with a view that embraces the entire valley of the Pesa river.
